A quick helping hand

This was a little job that we did this week at a local summer camp. The gutter had come down and pulled the fascia board with it. The gutter itself runs the full length of the building and was seamless, so we cut it where it was damaged and removed the damaged piece rather than taking down the entire gutter. We reattached the wooden fascias and re-installed the aluminum fascia cover. After everything was solid again, we put together the new gutter and attached it to the existing gutter where we had cut it. We made sure to get the spikes and ferrules into the rafter tails so that they hold the gutter more securely. The fascia is reattached and the gutter is fixed and they are back in action.

Update on the garage

There was a lot of progress on the garage this week. We got the trenches dug for the footings. Then the mason came in and laid out the forms for the footings. We then had the building inspector in to inspect the footings. The next day we had the concrete truck in and poured the footings. Now that the footings are poured we are all set for the mason to start laying up the foundation on Monday.

Vanity installed, bathroom finished

So, our customer has done all of the staining in his house and he wanted to stain the vanity that we built. He did an amazing job and we were able to get in installed, put the doors on, put the pulls on it and install the sink. You will also see in the pictures below that we tiled the floors in this bathroom with a marble tile, installed a new glass shower door, installed the toilet and trimmed the bathroom out and got it all put back together.

Building a garage

So our newest project happens to be one of our own. We are putting up a 2 story garage. Here are the pictures of the beginning of the garage. As you can see the excavator had a lot of work to do to cut the lot so we could level it out and get the garage in line with the house itself. But it is looking good. We should have the footings dug tomorrow and we can proceed from there. I will post more pictures as we go.

Re: working for friends

So, here are the pictures from the work that I finished up on my friends house. As you can see, I had to make 2 new stringers for the sides of the steps. I installed new posts, the Doug Fir stair treads and new kicks, which were painted before they were installed to prolong the life of them. The cabinet next to the dishwasher is also all wrapped up and painted. You can also see in the pictures that I made a new door to fit the cabinet that matches the rest of the cabinet doors.

So here are the stringers and posts as the steps start going back together

The new treads and kicks as well
All put back together

This is what i started with for the cabinet door
I then cut the back in so it will sit into the cabinet
Routed the edges and put the trim on the outside.
There it is ready for paint
There is the painted cabinet
And here is the finished cabinet with the door painted and installed
