Bathroom

Here is a bathroom that we renovated recently. As you can see from the pictures below, the tile and fixtures were very dated. So we gutted the room to framing and started over. The customers went with a Swanstone tub and once that was installed and the plumbing re done, we closed the walls back in. The walls of the shower got tile to the ceiling, and we installed a small alcove in the shower walls. The floor got new tile as well. With the tile finished the room was painted and the trim was installed. Then we put in the new fixtures. It looks great all put back together.

Ikea kitchen

Recently we redid a small kitchen in a rental unit for a customer.  The former tenant had removed the upper cabinets and painted the bottom cabinets.  The customer designed the new Ikea kitchen area, and after half a day's worth of assembly, the cabinets were ready to be hung.  Overall, we were really impressed by the ease of assembly and some of the high-end features of the cabinets.  For not much money, our customer was able to give this kitchen a much-needed face-lift and brighten up the space for their new tenant.

Pool deck

After all the rain delays, we were able to get in and get rolling on the deck. You can see in the pictures below that by having the excavator cut into the hill the way we did we were able to make a nice tiered deck that steps down from the house right to the edge of the the pool. it was also important to the customer that to have the deck be accessible with a wheelchair, so we built in a ramp from the top level down to the bottom level.

Window sill repair

We were called in on this job to fix the trim around a few windows. Wooden trim that is outdoors requires maintenance, but even when that is kept up regularly, it can still rot. We pulled out the rotten pieces and replaced them with new pieces which we first painted on all sides so that they were sealed well.

Breaking ground on our latest job

Our latest job is large deck. We will be building a deck that comes off the back of the customer's house and drops down to her pool. As you can see from the pictures below, it is somewhat hard to use comfortably right now. We were able to get our friend Roy from Full Circle Farm and Forest in yesterday to do the excavation for us and he did a great job. We would have been there this morning starting the footings, but today's rain kept us away. Check out Roy and Full Circle here: http://fullcirclefarmandforest.com/

Rotten Porch Rehab

Recently we were called in to restore a deck. There was some rot on the bottom of the posts and the spindles. We went through and cut out all of the rot and rebuilt everything. We used poplar that we got from a local distributor to repair it. We used poplar instead of pine to give everything a bit longer life, pine is a soft wood and doesn't hold up great outside. So we used the poplar to replicate some of the bottom rails and spindles, and used it to repair the posts as well. For the decking that was rotten we used 5/4" Dug Fir tongue and groove decking. While working the job we also replaced the lattice on the deck with ceder square lattice and put wire fencing behind it improve the look and keep animals out from under the deck. Once everything was replaced and fixed we sealed it all and painted.
